Classic Update Harness | Chevy Truck (1947-55)
Six volt truck; twelve volt future. An advance design cab was wired for headlights; a horn and not much else. Add a modern alternator; an electric fan and a stereo and the original loom is not a wiring system any more; it is a fire waiting for a bump in the road. This Classic Update kit replaces all of it. Bolt-in fuse panel on a custom mounting plate; fusible link protected power circuits; heavy 8 gauge alternator leads and a new ignition switch and headlight switch in the box. The accessory disconnect is there from the start. Power windows; a fuel pump; door locks; cruise - each one has a home rather than a splice hidden behind the kick panel. Heater; blower; glove box and cigarette lighter feeds are already run; and the same leads serve a Vintage Air or HotRod Air update when that goes in. Cluster disconnect at the dash. Keep the original gauges or fit a Classic Instruments cluster later without opening the harness again.

Fuse box and custom mounting plate are designed for a bolt-in under dash installation with all required hardware supplied; the position clears gauge packages; wiper systems; heat and air conditioning and stock or aftermarket GM tilt columns.
