A thin stainless strip does not fix it because the strip flexes with the carpet. These sill plates are CNC cut and bent from 14 gauge aluminum. Rigid enough to hold the carpet edge down and stay flat under a foot; 33-5/8 inch long and 7/8 inch wide so they cover the full opening. Dimple died fastener points let the stainless screws sit flush instead of standing proud where your heel lands. They ship brushed. Polish them; paint them; anodize them; powder coat them or wrap them to match the interior. The pair and the screws are in the box.
