FFG Billet Aluminum Wood Bed Fuel Door

Awesome part stopped me for having to re-fabricate a gas tank cap. Awesome Door for relocation gas tank.

I installed this door on a steel floor without the adapter. I ended up fabricating some flanges that are welded to the bottom of the floor to through-bolt the fuel door housing. I also had to create a flat surface between the bed floor ribs to accomplish this. So definitely not a bolt in piece, but worth the effort. It sits flush on the floor now and looks great. Functionality is perfect. The magnet to keep it closed is a nice touch. Hinge is smooth and sturdy in operation, however I do worry a bit about its strength if something were to be dropped directly on the door. I intend to still use my bed so I will just have to be careful. The only thing I wish was different would be to have a wider flange around the edge of the assembly. You have to be really precise on your cutout for it to fit without any gaps, and there is no corner radius indicated on the cutout instructions included.

FFG is the best of the best. Quality parts, quality staff, quality customer service. Can’t beat it. I ordered a few items, but most notably was the bed mounted fuel door.. I have patina truck and after adding aIr ride and raising bed floor, I don’t like any of the options on the market except for this FFG one. I was in a pinch and didn’t want to wait , so I called and asked if they had any in stock, and lucky me; they had one in stock, and it was the bronze cerakote which was what I wanted. Figured it was the best option for a patina truck. It came packaged well, it was flawless in its design and quality, I was very impressed. It came with templates and measurements, as well as nice FFG sticker for my tool box. I’m very happy with the company and my purchase. I’ll hopefully be ordering more stuff for my 66, I’ve got my eye on the dash pad for sure. Keep doing excellent work over there at FFG.
