1961-79 2WD Ford Truck Coyote Swap Radiator - Dual Brushless Fans

Brushless pull. Two tall cores. One swap that runs cool. A Coyote or a Godzilla makes heat the factory core support was never drawn around. Stock rows and a brushed fan get you through the shakedown; they do not get you through traffic in August with the A/C on. This is the two wheel drive 1961-79 core built for that load - two 1.25 inch tube cores in hand TIG welded aluminum with an aluminum shroud and dual SPAL brushless fans. Brushless means less current draw and a longer service life than the brushed fans they replace; that matters on a build already feeding an in tank pump and a modern alternator. Pick your mounting before you order. Flush sits on the core support; extruded sits on the stand off. The wrong one costs you a weekend and a set of brackets. Every one ships with the polished dome style 16 lb billet cap. It is the detail you see every time the hood comes up.

  • Two 1.25 inch tube cores - the coolant volume and surface area a swapped V8 asks for in a classic core support.
  • Brushless SPAL fans - lower current draw and longer life than the brushed fans they replace.
  • Hand TIG welded aluminum - built by fabricators rather than stamped out on a line.
  • Mounting to suit your truck - flush on the core support or on the extruded stand off.
  • Billet cap in the box - polished dome style 16 lb cap with every radiator.
  • Fan control ready - the matching brushless wiring kit ramps fan speed with coolant temperature.

Install Level: Intermediate - radiator swap with fan wiring and sensor installation

The Dual SPAL Brushless Fan Wiring Kit is offered as a second option; it includes a 175 to 195 degree F temperature sensor; a sensor harness and two fan pigtail harnesses.
Wiring the fans needs a maxi style fuse holder and fuse: 40 amp for 300W fans; 50 amp for 500W fans.
Built to order.

Transmission Cooling Kit: Our radiators come with no ports. We recommend a transmission cooling kit with all radiators if they are being used in an automatic transmission. Transmission cooling kits help automatic transmissions stay cooler, and keep the transmission temperature the same as the radiator temperature. Add one to your radiator purchase below or if you would like to know more about our T-cool kits Click Here.

High Performance vs Brushless Fans: High Performance fans are carbon brushed fans and are a great choice for your classic Ford Truck and have great technical performance. Our Brushless fans are more modern and efficient than their brushed counterparts, and tend to have longer lifespans. We offer both options so you can get exactly what you need for your builds. Looking for the High Performance Version? Click Here!

Extruded vs. Flush: Refers to how they are mounted; flush on the core support or on the extruded stand-off. Not sure which will fit your truck? See explanation below.

Optional Wiring Kit: The Dual SPAL Brushless Fan Wiring Kit is recommended for this radiator setup. It includes:

  • Temperature sensor (175°F–195°F)
  • Temperature sensor harness
  • Two fan pigtail harnesses

How it works:

  • At the lower temperature, fans run at minimum speed.
  • As temperature rises, fan speed increases.
  • At the upper range, fans run at full speed, moving maximum CFM.

Wiring requirements:

  • Maxi-style fuse holder and fuse required
  • 40 amp fuse for 300W fans
  • 50 amp fuse for 500W fans
  • See SPAL’s wiring diagram (included) for setup

*Current Lead Time of 8-10 Weeks.
