1965-72 Ford Truck Non-EFI Fuel Tank

Carbureted now. EFI later. Same tank. The tank behind the seat is the part of an old Ford nobody misses. It smells; it sits at shoulder height in the cab and it is the first thing a passenger notices about a truck you are proud of. This moves the fuel where it belongs. .125 aluminum; 26.5 by 19 by 10; roughly 19 gallons between the frame rails; with a pick up tube adapter and a rollover safety valve already in the box. Here is the part worth paying attention to: it is fully baffled. A carbureted tank usually is not; because a mechanical pump does not care. This one is built so that the day you drop in an injected engine you install a Stealth 340 in tank pump and keep the tank. Three baffles. 3/8 inch NPT pick up and return; 1/2 inch NPT vent; a CNC machined non vented threaded cap on the centre fill sitting just under the bed floor. Build the truck once. Buy the tank once.

  • Gets the tank out of the cab - moves fuel under the bed where it belongs; no more fumes at shoulder height.
  • Baffled for a future swap - drop in a Stealth 340 later and the same tank feeds an EFI engine.
  • Carbureted ready out of the box - pick up tube adapter and rollover safety valve included.
  • .125 aluminum construction - built to order and test fit rather than stamped and hoped.
  • Clean centre fill - CNC machined non vented threaded cap sitting just below the bed floor.

Install Level: Intermediate - tank mounting; fuel line routing and a bed fuel door

No fuel pump is included; this is the carbureted configuration.
A fuel level sending unit is not included. Use a 0-90 ohm sender for aftermarket gauges or a 75-10 ohm sender for stock gauges.
Standard bed fill: the neck stands approximately 3 inch proud and sits just below the bed floor; a bed fuel door is required.
Baffled for a future in tank Stealth 340 conversion when the engine goes EFI.
Built to order; 4-6 week lead time in the body and 6 weeks in the product data.
Fitment note: on some applications the rear crossmember may need to be relocated.
The FFG push fuel cap and adapter converts the Boyd 2 inch NPSM neck to an OEM style cap; sold separately.

Flush Bed Fill: Standard bed fill tank with cap. The standard bed fill tank will come with a threaded cap and neck as shown in the pictures which sticks up approx. 3” and sits just below the bed floor. This will require you to have a bed fuel door.

Fuel Level Sensor: We recommend one of two sending units to fit your needs; A 0-90 OHM fuel level sensor for aftermarket gauges or a 75-10 OHM fuel level sensor if you are using stock gauges with our Coyote Swap tanks.

Rollover Safety Vent: We also include the rollover safety vent, which is a simple ball check valve that allows air in and out of the tank as needed. In the event of a rollover, the ball will drop and block the vent port from leaking fuel. Additionally, it also has a small float inside that will help reduce the amount of liquid entering the vent hose from fuel slosh during normal everyday use.
