Hidden Latch Kit (Stock Tailgate) 21"

Chains scar paint. This does not. Factory tailgate chains swing on their own weight; they chip; and they leave a row of half moons down a bedside you spent a winter getting straight. Most builders wire them out of the way and then have nothing holding the gate at all. The hidden latch kit moves the whole job out of sight. Small stainless brackets bolt to the inside of the tailgate and stainless spring loaded catches drop into the stake pockets. Gate down; there is nothing on the outside to see. Woven nylon straps with stainless buckles carry the load when the gate is open. Nylon does not ring against a bedside the way a chain link does. 21 inch is the long version; published for 1938-72 Ford and 1954-87 Chevy. Hardware and instructions are in the box.

    16" Hidden Latch Kit: Hidden Latch Kits feature small stainless steel brackets that attach to the inside of the tailgate, and stainless steel spring-loaded catches installed inside the stake pockets.
