The difference is that on a 1930s bed the paint the chain is eating is often the last original finish anybody will ever see. These are the 16 inch straps - woven nylon with stainless steel buckles; sold in pairs with all the stainless hardware and instructions in the kit. Sixteen inches is the published length for 1930-53 Chevrolet and 1932-37 Ford trucks. Shorter gates; shorter drop; a strap that stops the gate level instead of past it. If you want the mounting out of sight entirely the hidden latch kit in this length does that. If you just want the chains gone; this is the fastest way there.

  • Sized to the early gate - 16 inch stops the gate level on a short prewar bed instead of letting it drop past.
