16" Hidden Latch Kit: Hidden Latch Kits feature small stainless steel brackets that attach to the inside of the tailgate, and stainless steel spring-loaded catches installed inside the stake pockets. The straps are made of woven nylon and have SS buckles that hold the tailgate when in the open position.

21" Check Straps: Our Check Straps are designed to replace tailgate chains that damage your custom paint job. They are a woven nylon strap with stainless steel buckles. Kits come in pairs, with all necessary stainless steel hardware and instructions.

16 inch is the published length for these trucks. The 21 inch pair covers 1954-87 Chevy and 1938-72 Ford.
Only the 1947-1953 end of the Chevy coverage maps to a store generation bucket. The earlier Chevy years and the whole Ford application sit outside the store buckets.
