16-inch hidden tailgate latch kit for stock tailgates on 1932–37 Ford, 1930–53 Chevy and 1936–47 Dodge trucks, replacing the paint-scarring tailgate chains.

  • Original paint stays original - nylon against a bedside does not cut the way a swinging chain link does.
  • Hidden from outside - brackets inside the gate; catches down in the stake pockets; nothing added to the profile.
  • Stainless throughout - brackets; catches; buckles and hardware all hold up in an open bed.

16" Hidden Latch Kit: Hidden Latch Kits feature small stainless steel brackets that attach to the inside of the tailgate, and stainless steel spring-loaded catches installed inside the stake pockets. The straps are made of woven nylon and have SS buckles that hold the tailgate when in the open position.

16 inch strap length is the application for these trucks. The 21 inch kit covers 1938-72 Ford and 1954-87 Chevy.
Only the Chevy side of this coverage maps to a store generation bucket - Chevy 1947-54. The 1930-46 Chevy years; the 1932-37 Ford years and the whole Dodge application sit outside the store buckets.
