4WD Controller for 2012+ Ford Powertrain Swaps
Four wheel drive that shifts when it should; not when you ask at the wrong moment. Swapping a modern Ford powertrain into an old truck leaves the transfer case orphaned. The factory shift logic lived in modules you did not keep; and a shift motor that engages under load is how transfer cases get destroyed. This controller reads real-time data from the engine ECM and only executes a shift under safe conditions. It watches shift motor load too; which protects the controller; the wiring; the motor and the drivetrain from a bind you cannot feel from the driver seat. Engagement itself is a precise signal to the transfer case clutch rather than a blunt on-off command. Wiring is the easy part. Pre-wired plug-and-play components; power; ground and CAN bus. Basic hand tools; a few specific drill bits; instructions and a color coded wiring diagram. Units ship pre-configured for the two common combinations: 5.0L with the 10R80; or 7.3L with the 10R140; both on a Ford Performance Control Pack. Other 2012 and newer OEM ECM combinations work too. One requirement to check first. Your automatic transmission must be controlled by the engine ECM.

Note: In rare cases, the controller may not function correctly with some 2012-2017 OEM ECMs; configuration instructions will be
provided if the controller fails to function.
