Hidden Latch Kit (Stock Tailgate) 16"

Prewar gates. Same problem; smaller measurement. A 1930s tailgate carries the same chains and picks up the same chipped arcs down the bedside. On an early truck the paint under those chains is usually the only original surface left worth saving. This is the 16 inch kit. Stainless brackets go on the inside face of the gate; stainless spring loaded catches drop into the stake pockets; and the woven nylon straps with stainless buckles take the weight when the gate is open. Sixteen inches is the application and not a preference. It is published for 1932-37 Ford; 1930-53 Chevy and 1936-47 Dodge - shorter gates and shorter bedsides than the 21 inch kit covers. Hardware and instructions come with it. From ten feet away nothing about the gate looks touched.

  • Original paint stays original - nylon against a bedside does not cut the way a swinging chain link does.
