Hood To Cowl Seal | Chevy 1955-59

One strip of rubber. It decides what your cowl drinks. A dead hood to cowl seal lets engine heat push back at the windshield and lets water run down behind the firewall instead of off the hood. You smell it at idle. You find the rest of it years later in the cowl corners. This is the second series seal for a 1955-59 Chevy truck; reproduced from the original specs in ozone resistant rubber and supplied with the metal clips that hold it to the firewall. Clips included is the detail that matters. Most of these seals go back on a truck missing half their hardware; then lift at the ends before the first summer is out. Do it while the hood is off and the cowl is clean. It takes ten minutes then and an afternoon later.
