A compact Pro-Billet distributor for Ford 289-302 with a black cap and housing 5/8 inch smaller than stock — MSD calls it great for blower or manifold clearance. Cast iron gear, MSD 6, 7, or 8 Series ignition required.
Know this before you buy: the 85795 must be used with an MSD 6, 7, or 8 Series ignition. It is not a standalone unit. Plan the box into the budget, and the rest earns its place.
MSD fit their high performance distributor experience into a compact housing designed to be less obtrusive on Ford engines. The black cap and housing measure 5/8 inch smaller than stock, providing extra room for a blower snout or tall manifold. The cap uses stainless spark plug style terminals, screwed down to the housing.
The internals are race proven. A magnetic pickup and precision reluctor deliver accurate trigger signals throughout high rpm, turned by a hardened steel shaft in a sealed ball bearing. The fully adjustable chromoly advance is set with supplied springs and a stop bushing, and locks out for crank trigger use.
