1973–79 Coyote Swap Mount Kit | Ford F250 Crew Cab

Modern power. Factory suspension. No cutting the truck in half. A crew cab 4X4 is the hardest truck in the 1973-79 range to put a Coyote into. The steering box is in the way; the transfer case needs a home; and most mount kits on the market assume a short cab with two wheel drive. This one was built for that truck. The mounts set the Coyote in the factory location so the power steering box keeps its space; the included crossmember carries your transfer case; and the hardware to bolt all of it in comes in the box. You will cut small clearance notches in the front crossmember and drill a few holes. Templates and instructions are included and most builders have it standing in an afternoon. It ships raw so you finish it to match your chassis. The photos show a coated kit as an example; what arrives is bare steel waiting on your paint.

  • Built for the crew cab - engineered for the 1973-79 F250 and F350 Crew Cab 4X4 rather than adapted from a short cab kit.
  • Keeps your steering box - the Coyote sits in the factory location so the stock power steering box stays where it is.
  • Transfer case sorted - the crossmember that carries the transfer case is in the kit; no fabricating a mount on your back.
  • Hardware in the box - every fastener needed for the mounts and the crossmember comes with it.
  • Templates and instructions - the drilling and notching is laid out for you; most installs run a few hours.
  • Raw steel - finish it to match your chassis instead of stripping someone else powder coat.

The 1973-1979 Ford F250 Crew Cab 4X4’s can be upgraded to slip in a modern Ford Coyote motor from a Mustang GT or the F150 truck. This kit is designed to fit the 2011-2023+ Coyote and place it in your Ford truck using the factory suspension and power steering box. The kit also includes the cross-member to mount your transfer case.

The engine is designed to sit in a factory location providing space for the power steering box. Due to the design of the power steering box location, headers can become an issue and fabrication of headers or ordering a set from us will solve that problem.

The kit comes in raw steel and with all the hardware needed to install the motor and the transfer case cross-member. Small notches need to be cut into the front crossmember for clearance. Some drilling is required into the original front cross-member, but usually can be installed in less than a few hours. Instructions and templates are included. Product photos show the kit powder coated as an example but are shipped raw steel.
