1973-79 Ford Truck Hood Hinges
1973-79 Ford Billet Aluminum Hood Hinges | Custom Lowered Truck Solution
Fat Fender Garage Precision Hood Hinges - When Stock Just Won't Cut It
Your lowered '73-'79 Ford deserves hinges that work. These billet aluminum hood hinges deliver the smooth operation you've been looking for, built to last decades while your truck keeps turning heads.
Engineered for the Real World
No more wrestling with your hood or worrying about weak factory hinges failing when you need them most. These billet pieces give you that solid, confident feel every time you pop the hood – whether you're showing off your engine bay or diving into weekend maintenance.
Built Specifically for Lowered Trucks
These aren't universal hinges trying to do everything. We designed them for builders who've ditched the inner fenders and dropped their trucks low. You get clean firewall mounting exactly where those inner fenders used to live, giving your engine bay that custom, uncluttered look you're after.
What You Need to Know Before You Order:
Your truck needs to be set up right for these hinges to work their magic:
• Inner fenders must be removed – These mount where your inner fenders used to live
• Lowered vehicle required – Designed for slammed trucks, not stock height
• Firewall mounting – Clean, direct attachment to your firewall
• Some fabrication required – You'll need to do some cutting for perfect fitment
• Antenna modification needed – Factory antenna will need work to clear
If you're already committed to that clean, these hinges complete your vision.
Fits 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979 Ford pickup trucks - lowered applications only
the machining on these look pretty good so long as you're okay with tooling marks.
the included instructions are an absolute joke - the cutting template is just flat out wrong and there's no pictures of how to assemble the system. no torque specs provided.
they also included a stainless screw with a stainless nut for the pivot - this galled immediately on first install and I had to cut it off.
There's no mention anywhere that the factory antenna will interfere with the mechanism.
kind of a joke for $1400. but ultimately they bolted up after I messed around enough and they look great on the truck.
