A crab cap exits the plug wires from the side instead of the top and drops overall height where a conventional cap simply will not clear. A low-profile crab cap distributor for Ford 289-302 built on the Pro-Billet foundation — the plug wires exit the side of the cap instead of the top, significantly lowering overall height. Steel gear supplied. Requires an MSD ignition control.
This one solves a height problem. Ford owners with distributor clearance issues from a blower, an air cleaner, or other parts interference are the reason it exists. A crab cap lets the plug wires exit the side of the cap, significantly lowering overall height where a conventional cap will not clear.
It is built on the proven foundation of the MSD Pro-Billet line, so the clearance win costs nothing in accuracy. A race proven magnetic pickup and precision reluctor deliver accurate trigger signals throughout high rpm, on a hardened steel shaft in a sealed ball bearing.
It ships with a steel gear, which MSD lists as compatible with most hydraulic roller cam applications — and MSD advises contacting your cam manufacturer for the proper gear. The fully adjustable mechanical advance uses supplied springs and stop bushings, and locks out for crank trigger systems.
