The design is what makes it dependable. Four powerful magnets are embedded in a billet aluminum trigger wheel, 6.562 inches in diameter and 3/8 inch wide, passing a stationary non-magnetic pickup. MSD states that pickup cannot be false triggered. The sensor measures 3/4 by 2.25 inches, compact enough for a crowded front of engine.
