Pro-Billet Distributor, Small Red Cap, Steel Gear — Ford 289-302
Machined billet. Roller cam gear already in it. Ford distributor gears are a pressed fit. Changing one normally means cross-drilling the shaft and setting gear height exactly - the kind of job that turns a weekend install into a shop appointment. Here the steel gear is on; set; and ready for a hydraulic roller camshaft. One part number covers the distributor and the gear; so there is one less thing to source and one less thing to get wrong. The rest is CNC machined billet; a polished QPQ-coated shaft on a sealed ball bearing; and a timing curve you set yourself.
Install Level: Intermediate - distributor swap; timing must be set
Steel gear is installed and set from the factory.
MSD is direct about it: matching gear material to cam material protects the camshaft; a mismatch can lead to engine damage.
Requires an MSD 6; 7 or 8 Series ignition control - sold separately.

The rest is machined billet. CNC machined billet aluminum housing and base, with the shaft polished, QPQ coated, and carried on a sealed ball bearing. The timing curve is yours to set with supplied springs and stop bushings, and the advance locks out if you move to a crank trigger.
