Ready-to-Run Distributor, Steel Gear — Ford 289/302
Roller cam sorted. No box needed. Bolt a hydraulic roller cam into a small block Ford and the distributor gear stops being a detail. This one settles it before the box is open - the steel gear is installed and set; so you skip pressing and shimming a gear and the machine shop visit that comes with it. MSD aims Ready-to-Run at bulky DuraSpark systems and ancient breaker points: drop it in; connect three wires; fire the engine. The built-in module fires a 7.5 amp single spark through high rpm; and the rev limiter is easy to set. The billet housing runs 5/8 inch smaller in diameter than stock; which clears tight engine bays and multi-carb induction.
Install Level: Easy - three wires to the coil; timing must be set
Will not fit XD and later Australian 351 Cleveland.
