A compact Pro-Billet distributor for the Ford 289 or 302 with a cap and housing 5/8 inch smaller than stock — MSD calls it great for blower or manifold clearance. Cast iron gear, MSD 6, 7, or 8 Series ignition required.
Room at the back of a small block Ford is always short, and a blower or tall manifold makes it shorter. MSD fit their high performance distributor experience into a compact housing designed to be less obtrusive on Ford engines. The cap and housing measure 5/8 inch smaller than stock.
The internals are race proven. A magnetic pickup and precision reluctor deliver accurate trigger signals to the MSD ignition at high rpm, turned by a hardened steel shaft in a sealed ball bearing.
The advance is fully adjustable: the chromoly assembly's rate is set by changing supplied springs, with the stop bushing setting total advance. The cap uses spark plug style terminals and is screwed down to the housing.
