Speed Drive Alternator Relocation for N/A 5.0L Coyote

Move the alternator. Get the space back. On a Coyote swap the alternator sits low on the driver side; which is exactly where a forward-facing turbo header or a tight frame rail wants to be. Something has to give and it is usually the alternator - relocated badly; belted wrong and squealing by the second drive. Power by the Hour built this to do it properly. The alternator moves to the upper passenger side on their proven bracket system; and the kit brings the parts that make that geometry work: two custom-length belts (one for the water pump; one for the alternator); both tensioners; a ribbed pulley for the driver-side tensioner and an idler pulley. Detailed instructions and all necessary hardware are in the box. PBH has been solving Coyote swap problems long enough that the pulley alignment is already worked out. This is not their complete Accessory Drive Bracket Kit. It is the specialized version for one job.

  • Clears the header - the alternator leaves the low driver side entirely.
  • Geometry solved - two custom-length belts; both tensioners and an idler; not a guess at belt length.
  • Uses your alternator - the factory 2011-up Mustang GT unit relocates; no new charging system.
  • Proven bracket system - PBH's own Coyote swap hardware; not adapted brackets.
  • Instructions and hardware - everything needed is in the box.

This alternator relocation kit comes straight from our friends at Power by the Hour Performance, well-known for their Coyote swap solutions. It’s a new version of their popular engine bracket kit, designed specifically to move the factory ’11-up Mustang GT Coyote alternator to a higher position.

Why relocate the alternator? Power by the Hour developed this setup for custom builds with forward-facing turbo headers or tight frame rail clearances. Instead of mounting low on the driver’s side, the alternator shifts to the upper passenger side, freeing up critical space for unique builds.

The kit uses PBH’s proven alternator bracket system and includes:

  • Two custom-length belts (one for the water pump, one for the alternator)
  • Both tensioners
  • Ribbed pulley for the driver-side tensioner
  • Idler pulley
  • Detailed instructions and all necessary hardware

This is not a replacement for PBH’s complete Accessory Drive Bracket Kit, it’s a specialized variation built solely for relocating the alternator.
