In this captivating video, we delve into the remarkable journey of Fat Fender Garage as they take on an extraordinary project: the transformation of a 1965 C10 Chevrolet pickup truck. Led by a team of talented individuals, this build showcases not only their exceptional craftsmanship but also the opportunity to collaborate with a well-known personality - Howie Kendrick, a World Series champion. Join us as we discover the behind-the-scenes process and witness the stunning results of this truly unique build.
The story begins with a chance social media encounter between Fat Fender Garage and Howie Kendrick. After posting photos of a green 1964 C10 truck that Fat Fender Garage had built in 2019, Howie Kendrick expressed his interest in having a truck of his own. What followed was an exciting collaboration that aimed to create a stunning custom truck befitting Howie Kendrick's passion for automotive excellence.
Initially, the plan was to take a truck that Howie had acquired and simply swap it onto a new chassis for improved performance and reliability. However, as the project progressed, the team discovered some unexpected rust issues, prompting a change of course. The project took on a new level of complexity and ambition, pushing the team to think outside the box and create something truly exceptional.
The build evolved from its original concept into a masterpiece of automotive artistry. Pinstripe Chris provided renderings to guide the design process, allowing the team to experiment with colors, trim, and chassis details. Countless hours of meticulous work resulted in a truck that seamlessly combined aesthetic appeal with impressive performance. With a pearl-infused midnight blue paint job, hidden fastening systems, and carefully selected finishes, this C10 truck stands as a testament to the team's dedication and skill.
As the video unfolds, we get an exclusive look at the fully transformed 1965 C10 truck. The engine bay reveals a brand new crate LSA supercharged engine, equipped with a Texas Speed cam for an extra kick of power. Concept One's front-runner system, Wizard radiator, and Resto mod AC system further enhance the truck's performance and functionality. Every detail, from the smoked-out LED lights to the meticulously lowered trim, has been carefully considered to achieve a truly unique and eye-catching aesthetic.
